I am sure the telugu version of this song from movie-’villian’ should be very fantastic than the one I wrote, but I wanted to write this song because I loved it..so writing this without listening to the actual telugu song…Will listen to it after I finish the complete song.

పాలతో పాయసం చేసేడప్పుడు చివరగా ఒక చెంచాడు కస్టర్డ్ (custard) పౌడర్ని కొంచెం చల్లని పాలలో కలిపి పాయసంలో వేసి కలిపితే మంచి రుచి వస్తుంది. ముందుగానే వేసేస్తే బాగా కలియబెట్టాలి లేకపోతే మాడిపోయే ప్రమాదం ఉంది. (లేదా condensed milk కూడా వెయ్యవచ్చు) ఏలకుల పొడి కూడా కలిపితే బాగుంటుంది.

పెరుగుతో ఏ వంటకం (దద్దోజనం, ఆవడ, పెరుగుపచ్చడి, మజ్జిగ పులుసు) చేసినా చిటికెడు ఆవపిండి వేస్తే రుచి బాగుంటుంది. ఈ ఆవపిండి చివరగా మాత్రమే వెయ్యాలి, ముందుగానే వేసి ఆవతో కలిపి వేడి మీద ఉడకబెడితే చేదెక్కే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది.ఒక్కోసారి రుచి మారిపోవచ్చు కూడా. తిరగమోత (పోపు, తాలింపు)లో మెంతుల బదులు కసూరీ-మెథి(kasuri methi) వేస్తే మెంతుల వల్ల వచ్చే చేదు తగ్గి, రుచి పెరుగుతుంది.

ఇంటిలో అద్దాలు మచ్చలు పడి, పేస్టు మరకలు పడి మురికిగా తయారై తుడిచినా మొదటిలాగా రాకపోతే ఇలా చేసి చూడండి, చిన్న గ్లాసులో నీళ్ళు తీసుకుని అద్దమంతా చల్లండి. న్యూస్ పేపర్ ఒకటి తీసుకుని అద్దాన్ని శుభ్రంగా రుద్దండి. పేపర్ తడిగా అయి పొతే కొత్త పేపర్ తీసుకుని రుద్దండి. అద్దం సరికొత్తదానిలాగా మెరుస్తుంది.

Kamal Hasan, I must say a legend!!

Yesterday me and my husband were casually discussing about telugu movies and directors. Suddenly he asked me a question ‘ which is your favourite movie of kamal hasan?’. I was busy in some work so I asked him to name a few while I was thinking of a few. The first one that obviously came to my mind was, no prize for guesses, ‘Saagara Sangamam’. Though I like that movie I categorize that under Vishwanath’s movies more than Kamal Hasan’s. Next obvious thing was ‘Swathimutyam’. I was suprised that my husband (who doesn’t watch movies at all) was saying that kamal’s acting in that movie became a refereral point to people acting in that direction. Then he came with ‘Vichitra Sodarulu’, ‘Indrudu Chandrudu’, ‘Michael Madana Kama raju’, ‘Oka Raadha Iddaru Krishnulu’. I said they are good movies but not favourites (incidentally kamal was having a dual role in all of these!). He said ‘Aakali Raajyam’. Hmm… yes I said thatz my favourite one. He asked why not ‘Vasanta Kokila’ I said thatz too tragic one. Suddenly I remembered ‘Dance Master’, ‘Tik, Tik, Tik’, ‘Erra Gulabeelu’ and ‘Chanakya’. Then I corrected saying ‘No No ‘Chanakya’ is the favourite one!’. ‘OK,’ he said, ‘but I think u forgot one named ‘Nayakudu’!’. I said ‘Oh yeah, rub all the previous ones itz ‘Nayakudu’ thatz my favourite’. Then he went on with the list ‘Kshatriya Putrudu’, ‘Pushpaka Vimaanam’, ‘Bharateeyudu’ each one replacing my most favourite of his!!

Ofcourse we discussed some of his flops like ‘Subha Sankalpam’, ‘Abhay’, ‘Tenaali’, ‘Hey ram’ which were released around the same time. But we both agreed that they were all different movies from each other with very different story lines and of course very different roles of his. He potrayed all of them well. I am not a great fan of Kamal Hasan. For that matter, I am not a great fan of any hero. But this kind of movies in one actor’s bag will make him only a ‘legend’. So we dedicated this weekend listening to kamal’s songs!!

Kamal ji, all the best for ‘Dasavataaram’!

This is a famous song from movie ‘Ashoka’ released in 2001 starring Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The song ‘Raat ka nashaa abhi’ in this movie sung by ‘melody queen’ chitra, sparked my imagination. So wanted to put our very own telugu lyrics in that and tried it … I will be glad if one day chitra sings it for me… For now I will enjoy that song this way..
